anyways in between all that i had a class with 25HR and omfg.. i walk into class and they’re already making christmas cards so i kinda get mad at atsumi-sensei like dawg what i didnt know!! then he was like clam down and turns out they were making christmas cards for ME…. so in the midst of them also making cards for other people all the kids periodically came up to me to give me their cards and i kinda wanted to cry! like how freaking sweet…. i’m such a sucker for students’ art… and they were also so excited for me to see and for them to see my reaction like omfg LOWK MY FAV CLASS.. like I barely taught yall this sem and they be like thank you for everything I love you! and shout out to one of the students who was volunteering at the 5k race so he wrote marathonお疲れ which was funny.. anyways one of the students was making a card for their cat and i’d somehow only catch glimpses at really crazy parts of the process which was as such: search up picture of tuna, draw and colour a tuna, argue with her friend about whether it’s a tuna or not, draw a cat and exclaim “isn’t this crazy cute???,” and then finally, after google translating, wrote the message:
also to illustrate the level of english I’m working with here, these are my fav poems this class wrote:
ok my first time at the fundies class!! lots of familiar faces from the girls classes including miyuki who is a sweet 14 or something year old who can speak english and does her best to be patient while explaining things to me… we drilled some spider guard movements for both the bottom and the attacker and it’s nice to drill something where both ppl kinda have to pay attention instead of one playing dummy. and during sparring i got floored naturally, was giving my back up so easily and even if i could get to side control i’d have no idea what to do other than just lay on them…. and while i can recall the like… outline of some techniques a lot of the fine details get lost in translation so with that + an actually resisting partner it’s so difficult grah……grr… but still i’m happy i went! only costs me 100 yen to dry my gi before… and also its kind of nice to visit the coin laundry!
i did a little 30 min recovery run after! and was kinda running on empty so i ate two boiled eggs and now i feel nauseous. goodnight world!!!
